Yesterday was a full day of appointments. We left the apartment around 7:30am and didn’t get back until 4:30pm, so it was definitely a long day.
Our first stop was audiology to reprogram her BAHA hearing aids, and it was in a building we had never been to before, so that was a bit of an adventure. After that, we headed to the pre-op clinic at the main hospital where they checked her over from head to toe and completed lab work.
We grabbed a quick lunch in the cafeteria before heading to our final appointment with the ear canal surgeon. Devin and I both really liked him—he was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly.
Boston is such a busy city, especially around the hospital and all the nearby colleges. It definitely takes patience to drive here—especially in the big SUV we rented. Devin and I have been jokingly calling it “the boat.”
One thing we heard multiple times throughout the day was, “Wow, she’s having a big surgery Monday—are you guys ready?” We also kept hearing how highly recommended Dr. Rahbar is. Several people told us he’s the best for this type of surgery and that they would trust him with their own children for any ENT procedure. Hearing that has been reassuring.
Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for Monday.
