The last few days have been full of doctor appointments and phone calls. Yesterday, Abigail had a developmental appointment, and her doctor was very encouraged—she’s progressing well at her own pace. 

 

On the way home from UVA, we got a big call from Dr. Rahbar’s OR scheduler—Abigail’s LTR surgery is officially scheduled for April 6! This is such an exciting and important step forward. She’ll have her pre-op appointment with Dr. Rahbar on April 3, where we’ll also find out the exact time of surgery. 

 

Right now, we plan to fly to Boston on April 2. We’ve already reserved an apartment for a month since lodging there can be tough to secure. The surgery itself will take about 12 hours, and Abigail will remain intubated for roughly 3 weeks, so we’ll be in Boston for at least a month. 

 

We’ll also head to CHOP for ENT and GI procedures in the OR in just two weeks.
