They took Abigail off the paralytic around 2:30pm today. She has done well being off of it and is still pretty sedated.

The surgeon came by about an hour ago to check on Abigail and spend some more time talking with us. He shared that Abigail is very complex, and this time he had more difficulty intubating her than before.

Right now, we are in a “wait and see” period until he takes her back to the OR on Friday. At that point, he’ll have a better idea of how everything is healing. He plans to show us pictures from Monday’s procedure as well as new ones he takes on Friday. If any repairs are needed, he will take care of those during that surgery.

He also told us that her airway is still considered critical until he can fully assess how it’s healing.

It was a bit discouraging for Devin and me to hear that she is becoming more difficult to intubate by mouth. We do have an appointment with the plastic surgeon later this month, and we’ll be discussing everything together as a team moving forward.

Thank you all for continuing to pray for Abigail and for our family—we truly feel the support.

I can only imagine how all of this information is heavy and overwhelming. God sees you and Abigail and He has her in the palm of His hands. Both of you have done an AMAZING job following the Lord’s leading in taking her to Boston to receive the very best care. Keeping trusting, keep looking to Jesus for your strength, and we will fervently continue to pray with you.🙏🏻🙏🏻

Sending you all so much love I wish I could do more to help her heal. It hurts me to think of her hurting. Praying for healing.
