Cherishing the Moments Along the Way

Summer is flying by, and I can’t believe it’s already the end of June! We’ve been staying pretty busy, especially on the weekends. 

Last Monday, Abigail had a virtual appointment with Dr. Gallant in Boston, who specializes in treating excessive drooling in children. She plans to do another injection, similar to Botox, during Abigail’s jaw surgery in August to help prevent her from aspirating her saliva. 

On Friday, we enjoyed dinner at one of our favorite places, Anthony’s Pizza. Saturday, we spent time with Devin’s cousin and his family, who are missionaries to Estonia. They are back in the States for a short visit, and it has been two years since we last saw them. On Sunday, we went to church and then met my dad and brother at Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Father’s Day. Gunnar decided he wanted to spend the night with Grandpa and Uncle, so Devin is picking him up later today. 

I can’t believe we leave for Abigail’s Wish Trip in just three weeks! This coming Sunday, Make-A-Wish is hosting a special reveal and send-off party for our family, where the kids will officially find out they are going to Disney. Anthony’s Pizza is generously donating pizzas, and a talented local small business made several Disney-themed dresses for Abigail. We are so grateful for the love and support our community has shown our family. It truly has been such a blessing. 

We also received exciting news—on July 10, Abigail has been invited to throw out the first pitch for the Strasburg Express baseball team! Devin has already started practicing pitching with both kids. 

Thank you all again for your prayers and encouragement. Boston is only six weeks away, and while we know another big surgery is ahead, we are thankful for this season of making special memories together before then.
