The Sernovitz Family
The good news is that Becky finished her first round of chemotherapy and is now taking a pill to address the DNA Mutation FLT3-TKD. The not so good news is that she has been dealing with high fevers the last few days and other side effects of the treatment. She has had several platelet transfusions and will most likely start receiving daily blood transfusions throughout the next couple weeks. Her immunity is at its lowest and if and when she is up for seeing people, we will let you know and please make sure you or members of your family are feeling well and haven’t been sick in recent days. This is critical as Becky doesn’t have immunity to fight and could easily get sick.
In typical Becky fashion, she has showered, gotten a hair cut, and is tackling this in style. Thank you for supporting us and reaching out. This is what gives her continued reason to fight and be positive. Becky has requested for people not to leave voicemail. Texting is best or feel free to call. She might not answer but will if she is feeling up to it. She didn’t like voicemail before this and won’t listen to it now.

Yay! You made it through your first round of chemo! 🥳
No two people walk the same path, but one thing I’ve learned from supporting my mother’s journey is this: it’s a difficult road, filled with countless emotions and unexpected questions. It’s important to take the time to remember that every feeling and every question you wrestle with is a valid, crucial part of the journey.
May you continue to fight and find your way, knowing that G_d walks beside you, beloved. I hope the love and healing energy I’m sending from Jersey brings you some comfort.
Wishing you strength and peace, always.
