Monica’s story continues to be shared, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped bring attention to what happened to my wife and our family.

Patch recently published an article about Monica’s detention at LAX, the 15 days, she spent at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center, and the uncertainty we are still facing even after a federal judge ordered her immediate release on September 29.

For me, it’s important that people understand Monica is so much more than an immigration case. She is my wife, the mother of our 3-year-old son, and a registered nurse who has spent years caring for patients in our community, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. She came to the United States as a child, and this is the country she has known as home for nearly her entire life.

Having Monica back home with our son and me means more than I can put into words. But her fight is not over. She was released under supervision and is currently wearing an ankle monitor. She is not a criminal!!

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Monica’s story, reached out to our family, prayed for us, or simply taken the time to learn about what happened. Every bit of support has helped us get through this.
