The Morones Family
It's pretty humbling to think of all that this mighty Morones family conquered last week.
Multiple doctor's appointments, 3 out of the 5 family members undergoing different surgeries, with different needs and considerations. Battles with insurance. And a roller coaster of emotions as scans provided more information about this whole C-word thing.
On Monday we celebrated finding out that Devyn's bones are cancer free!! Her port placement went well and barring any further insurance hoops, chemo will start this week.
The outpouring of support has been so uplifting and emotional to watch and feel. Support from Devyn and Josh's family, & love sent from dear friends from near and far.
The family was fed well during this entire past week of medical mayhem. Our little Support Now calendar growing volunteers of community care. Finance stress eased a bit. And we have a growing list of folks who have reached out to be on call for last minute needs. Across the miles, finding ways to build a tribe, a system of support. Every piece and person helps, and is so very appreciated.
The family appreciates all forms of support - if you'd like to send love their way, we ask you channel it into a meal, an errand, or just a kind note rather than a visit. Doorway drop-offs, errands scheduled during school hours, and minimal visitors, help Devyn and Josh to keep household routines feeling consistent and safe for the kids. Please only take on errands that you have the energy and physical capacity to accomplish. We don't want anyone overcommitting or overexerting themselves.
There are still many opportunites to help in different ways, if you feel called and once we know more about Devyn's treatment schedule we will be updating the calendar and adjusting needs as we go. & I will keep posting information to help you feel connected to this journey and feel how your support and contributions matter.
