Relapse scare

July 20th was supposed to be the day, the day we said good bye to frontile chemo. Instead we waited with anxious hearts to receive the blood work to know if the leukemia was back. What seemed like forever, was only a few days the test said no. NO LEUKEMIA was present in Willows blood. The problem still lingers, why Willows bone marrow isn't recovered. This cycle was supposed to be easy, a simple 5 rounds. Instead she's spent more time not receiving chemo but instead blood and platelets. She's covered head to toe (literally on her toes) of bruises. She's been tired, nauseas, dizzy, sad, angry, scared. This was the first time Willow has been scared, she understands the gravity of what she's going through. We have had to have talk about death(not her) and scary topics a 5 year shouldn't have to know. She does because she has seen it, no amount of protection can block the sounds in a children's hospital. But today she remains cancer free and we remain grateful. She is still on chemo hold, prayers tomorrow we get positive answers that her labs look good and she can continue protocol.
