Fortunately and unfortunately blina block 2 is coming to a quick end. Willow has the toughest cycle coming up next. It's 56 days of strong chemo and if I'm being quite honest scary chemo. The first 28 days will be weekly chemo around the third week her numbers will tank. Meaning we keep as isolated as possible because she will have no immune system. She will most likely need blood and platelet transfusions. By the start of the second half we will be relocating to Ronald McDonald House. There she will finish out the next 28 days being as close to the hospital as we can get her. Her risk of infection will be the greatest we've seen and we will be on our toes monitoring her. She's not going to feel good. She will be extremely tired, but we'll do our best to keep life "normal" and happy. This past month has been a breath of fresh air. We've gotten to enjoy the Florida spring festivals finally start school with Willow and honestly just enjoy time together. The sun is still not her friend so that's been a really tricky thing to navigate, her skin burned and peels with just the smallest sun exposure. But we're getting close to the end of Frontline chemo and we see maintenance in sight. Three more months of schedule weekly or daily chemo until she gets to drop down to once a month. Until then we keep supporting. We keep loving and we keep fighting for her.
