A date!

Yesterday was a big day.
Hollis’s nurse called to update us that her additional exception points have been approved moving her up on the list with a new score of 31. She also shared the news that we have a living donor match and the surgery will be scheduled on April 28th. What this means is we could get a call with a deceased donor before the 28th but if no call by then we will proceed with scheduled surgery on the 28th. SO —OUR GIRL WILL HAVE A NEW LIVER IN 9 DAYS!! It doesn’t feel real. Still trying to process everything and mentally prepare for what is ahead. We’ve known this day has been coming for such a long time but doesn’t make it any easier. Now is the time to trust God and the incredible surgeons at Duke. Thank you to friends, neighbors, and strangers who have reached out with so many kind words and offered support. We will keep you updated as we get closer but please know your prayers are working and continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
