Hello friends!
When folks ask us if we have any plans for the summer break, the conversation usually turns a different direction when we say "Jacob is having brain surgery in July."
We have been preparing for this for several months and are optimistic about a new treatment option to help reduce the severity and/or frequency of his daily seizures.

Yes it sounds scary - it's brain surgery! But the risks are relatively low and the chances pretty good. Here's a bit more of the plan:
We will be at Seattle Children's at least July 13 to 18.

We will be at Seattle Children's at least July 13 to 18.
- During this time, one of us will be with Jacob 24/7. Our friends have graciously offered their Capitol Hill condo as a home away from the hospital for a decent shower and bed.
- Caleb will be staying with dear friends here in Tacoma. He wants to be close enough to visit in Seattle if needed.
- Elsie will be staying with her friend Willa and living her best life.
We're not quite sure what post-op recovery will look like. Annie's parents will come to lend an extra hand, especially when Matt takes off July 22-25 to hike Mt. Rainier!
We are always grateful for our village that has supported us through 16 years of these blessings and bumps, crisis and chaos. Thank you for coming along side us again! More needs and updates to come.
