First 24hour chemo week

Thank you to all who have been so generous with your donations for our bills, rides, encouraging visits, phone calls & cards, offers of help & wonderful meals! It has been truly heartwarming & such a blessing to know there are so many who care. 

We are on day 2 of Steve’s chemo week & already a bit pooped😝 There are “literally” kinks to be worked out (having been awoken at 2am with his pump beeping loudly with a flow issue!) Thankfully, help was just a phone call away (better than you get with a newborn) & he was able to get back to sleep pretty quickly. Honestly, I’ll take a beep any day though, over having to ever use the “chemo leak biohazard kit” that was sent home with him😬 Thankfully, so far, he has not had any of the severe pain he had with the first “targeted”treatment he had last week.
That was quite difficult & left him quite apprehensive going into this week, so we are hopeful that he will not experience that degree of pain again. Now we just have to be on the alert for fevers or any signs of illness. Because of his heightened risk, we will be implementing some policies for drivers, visitors & those providing meals that will be reminiscent of 2020-2022.
