Hello friends and loved ones,
On June 17, Vickey and I received news that no parent ever wants to hear. The lesion that was removed from our son Logan's rib was not benignβit was cancerous. Logan has been diagnosed with chondrosarcoma.
The hours that followed are ones we will never forget. The shock, fear, and uncertainty were overwhelming. But through the love and support of family and friends, and most importantly through prayer, we are finding our footing and taking things one day at a time.
Chondrosarcoma is extremely rare in children, and we are still learning what this diagnosis will mean for Logan's future. While we do not yet know the full treatment plan, we are working closely with his medical team and awaiting guidance on the next steps.
If you know Logan, you know he is a fighter. From the day he entered this world, he has faced challenges with a strength and determination far beyond his years. He continues to amaze us with his courage, and we have every confidence that he will face this challenge with that same spirit.
The good news is that Logan's prognosis is very encouraging, and we are grateful for that blessing. Even so, hearing the word "cancer" changes everything. It brings uncertainty, difficult decisions, and a journey that no family ever expects to take. While we remain hopeful and optimistic, we know there will be challenges ahead.
Many people have reached out asking how they can help. Right now, the greatest gift anyone can give is prayerβfor Logan, for wisdom for his doctors, and for strength and peace for our family. We are deeply grateful for every prayer, message, and act of kindness that has already been shown to us.
For those who have also expressed a desire to support us in other ways, any assistance will help our family navigate the road ahead and focus our attention where it belongs: on Logan and his care.
Thank you for the love, support, and prayers you have already given. We are incredibly blessed to have such a strong community standing beside us during this time.
With love and gratitude,
The Johnston Family
