From Joanie:

This weekend was hard.

The doctors tried to take Eliza’s ventilator off again to transition her to a more mobile vent. Her lungs were not able to sustain oxygen levels for long to make this transition successful, so they could not make the transition.

Their goal is to get her to an MRI, so that they can see more clearly if there is any brain activity. The EEG shows none, but the MRI is a more extensive test. Until she can be removed from some of the life support machines, this isn’t a possibility. This is hard news.

Joe and Jess are continuing to ask the Lord for clear answers regarding how best to move forward. Continued prayers for their wisdom are needed, as they navigate reports. It is so difficult to hold both hope and surrender equally.

Praying along with you for Eliza's lung to grow stronger and for clarity on her health. Praying for the care team at WMC that they, too, will be steadfast in supporting this sweet family. We love you, Hughes Family!
