Update on Brooklyn... It's a BIG one!

We have a couple of busy weeks ahead of us. Brooklyn has four chemotherapy appointments this week and four more next week. She is currently in surgery to have an Ommaya reservoir placed under her scalp. This will allow her care team to safely administer chemotherapy directly into her spinal fluid today and again next Wednesday.

Next Wednesday, she will also have surgery to place a port in her chest and have her PICC line removed. She is especially excited about this because once she is healed, she’ll finally be able to go swimming!

Now for the most exciting news—Brooklyn’s MRD (Minimal Residual Disease) test came back NEGATIVE! She is officially considered to be in remission! 🙌

While remission doesn’t mean cured, it means that no leukemia cells were detected with very sensitive testing. She will still continue the full 2.5-year treatment plan to eliminate any remaining cells that may be too small to detect and to help prevent the leukemia from coming back.

Her care team—and us—are pretty surprised, but incredibly grateful for this result, especially since some of her chemotherapy had to be delayed earlier in treatment. We know this is an answer to many prayers, and we are so thankful for the love, support, and prayers that continue to carry our family through this journey.

Thank you for celebrating this huge milestone with us. Brooklyn still has a long road ahead, but today we are celebrating her being in remission. 💛🎗️
