The Hassey Family
It has been 29 days.
29 days of sitting in a hospital room patiently waiting for answers and praying for good news.
29 days of watching my baby girl be poked and prodded, have EEG leads glued in her hair then removed and re-glued, be strapped into respiratory device after respiratory device, and be fed through a tube.
29 days of separation from my girl at the end of the day and watching the hospital camera feed to feel close to her.
29 days of repeatedly feeling my heart being shattered into pieces.
29 days of repeatedly feeling my heart being shattered into pieces.
29 days of doing everything I can to just hold it together.
29 days of questioning God and constantly asking Him “why?”.
29 days of questioning God and constantly asking Him “why?”.
It’s been 29 of the longest and hardest days of my life.
29 days of answering Charlie’s question, “when will Dottie be home?”, with, “we don’t know yet.”
It’s also been 29 days of watching Dottie girl prove that our God is bigger than any diagnosis or any MRI imagery. Of watching her tell us in her own way, “I won’t let anyone tell me what I can and cannot do.”
So tonight, at the end of day 29, we got to answer Charlie’s question differently.
Tomorrow…on day 30…Dottie girl comes home!!!
