John is back from surgery and having a fabulous (drug induced) nap.

We are absolutely over the moon with what the surgeon found today- we couldn’t have dreamed up a better OR report!!!! 🤩 the part of his septum that was damaged has healed. His right nostril is wide open- so open that any rebound swelling will still leave him with plenty of room to breathe. The left nostril (although much smaller) is also open. There was no new scar tissue to clean out. Neither side required dilation. His breathing is in a better spot than it’s ever been and we hope that, at this point, we may be through the worst of it. We are SO SO SO THANKFUL!!! 

We will be working with speech to determine the best feeding situation for him, and will be here at least a few more days to be monitored. 

Overall, he’s in an incredible spot and we’re just so relieved to finally get him some relief. 
Bonus: we got most of our face back!!!
