Long post warning!

I don’t even know how to start this thank you to everyone who helped with the benefit and everyone who came and supported us because what Ty and I are feeling is a feeling words can’t cover! But we are so so thankful and grateful for everyone in our communities! Weston is so so loved by everyone near and far! When I got to the benefit I took one step in the gym and had to turn around because I started bawling! I tried so hard to talk to and thank people at the benefit and if I didn’t get to you just know I was trying! There were over 400 people who came through those doors and we are thankful for every person! I went around and read who donated items to the benefit and there was many people who I do not know. So if you donated and are reading this just know I am so thankful!

The money raised will help our Weston now and next few years as he recovers and grows! Wish I had gotten pictures of our families and of all the wonderful people who put this benefit together for Weston!

Many people I talked to asked if Weston was alone while I was home for the benefit and the answer to that is no he was not alone. My wonderful cousin Carrie was there hanging out with him!

Weston update!
Masonic ICU 104 days, transplant list 97 days, Berlin heart 90 days. Grandma Anissa left right after the benefit so I can be home for a bit with my other boys. Grandma Jean is on to cover for my next visit home! Weston is starting to giggle but that little stinker won’t ever let me catch it on a video so I can share! Weston is still struggling with having irregular heart rythyms called PVCs and SVTs. It is normal for children with Berlin heart pumps to have those and they give medications to help reduce the amount of them. He still struggles with puking and gagging from all the pressure on his stomach from his Berlin tubes. Speech therapy is working on figuring out how we can get him to take food by mouth. He had been doing well with taking bottles and then it switched to him not wanting anything to do with bottles. It can be many reasons from him being lazy as he knows he will get fed without doing the work, not wanting to eat due to the puking and gagging or just him exploring the fact that he has a tongue/mouth and wants to talk instead of using his mouth to eat.

Weston did spike a temp of 101 last Monday. Labs were done and they still don’t know why it happened. He was started on antibiotics to help get rid of any infection that may have caused the temp. Many dressing changes happened in the last week to monitor his Berlin site and it seems to be getting better from before.

Every morning when the team does rounds it is boring, docs always say not much change and I tell them boring is good and I like that! Weston and I spend our time reading books, doom scrolling facebook/TikTok, playing with toys on the floor or watching movies. Weston has started sitting up without support which is crazy for him only being 4 months! Weston got measured for a helmet yesterday, so soon he is gonna have some extra gear! He spent a lot of time on his back in bed when he got to the hospital, we tried doing our best to have him off his back after surgery but his little head still needs help.

If you made it this far please know we are so thankful to everyone and that Weston is doing well and we are waiting for our phone call of his hero heart! ❤️
