162 days at Masonic Children’s, 155 days on transplant list, 148 days of Berlin heart
Weston has still been dealing with infection at his Berlin site. The surgical team took him to the OR to have a look around at his site. Weston was intubated and sedated for this procedure. The team was able to get a swab of the deeper tissues, they did not find any abscess or pocket of fluid. The infection is material based meaning it will only go away when he gets a transplant as the Berlin would come out when that happens.
Weston has slowly been taking in more food by mouth and loves eating carrot purees! Weston has also enjoyed pulling out his NJ two times last week so I did get a few pictures of his naked face! Westons skin has been struggling to get along with his helmet so he has spent a lot of time without it and has some blister like areas on his head. But he is still a happy little man as long as he has company in his room!
Thank you everyone for continuing to support and cover him with prayers! Miracles do happen and we are waiting for his turn.
