It’s surgery day! Honestly, the thought of surgery has freaked me out. I’ve had some emotional moments over the last month. But today I woke up and realized this is the day we remove the cancer in full. Our main goals are:
- Clear margins and we get all the cancer out
- No necrosis of the skin
- No infection
I am at Stanford with some of the best surgeons in the field. I’m in good hands. And they keep commenting on my good health and age as reasons the above risks would be lowered. Fingers crossed!
Secondary goals for me include:
- I am happy with my new rack lol
- I am able to manage the pain
- I don’t attack Chris when the house is messy
- I go on a walk every day according to doctors orders
Photo: Last week we lived it up by attending game four of the World Series! It was such a great getaway for Chris and me before surgery.
And finally, another round of applause to all of you for your love, support, meals, carpool help, gift cards, and just being the most amazing village we could have dreamed of.
In the words of my dear friend Lindsey now it’s time to “let go and let God.”
