I am just leaving the hospital and unfortunately Damon has made a turn for the worse. Options are growing smaller, but we are continuing to stay prayerful.

At this time we ask you to hold all text and calls to Kiala, she is inundated and overwhelmed. We thank you for your continued support and as I know more I will update this page.

Kiala, it all seems so overwhelming to think you will be doing Damon’s care at home, but I promise YOU CAN DO THIS!!! You are a strong, smart woman. We brought my dad home as a 260 lb. quad and it was so much better than being in the hospital. The feeding tube and bags become second nature. And the machine beeps if anything is messed up. You can do it, it is easier than it seems. I do recommend having the nurses show you how to change a bed with the patient in the bed. There is a way to roll up the sheets like a cigar and roll them under the patient. You roll patient on left side, unroll sheets up against their spine and roll them to the far right to have the sheets pass under. Also, you will need a Hoya lift, it rolls under the bed and hydrolics help lift and move. It protects your back and is essential. Keep taking deep breaths and meet every “I can’t do this” thought with “I will rock this.” Prayers are up for your whole family 🙏

Damon is a cherished and beloved member of my Viniyoga community. I was in his initial training in SF 2010 and recently went through the 1000 hour Yoga Therapist training with him. We all love him so much. This news is devastating. I will be reaching out to out cohort to organize prayer and chanting for him . Please let him know. And if there is any way he is able to listen we can coordinate that with you if you have the bandwidth . Otherwise please tell him that we are generating and sending blankets of love to you both.

I’m getting ready for bed, making sure the batteries in the candle are still strong, I picked a fresh flower to add to the little vase on the altar where I pray for Kiala and Damon every night and morning. Asking for lots of Angel help and holding them both in a huge Reiki Hug.
