Gianunzio Family Update
Apologies for the delay. I meant to send this sooner. As you know, Liz had surgery scheduled at 1230pm. It was delayed until about 430. Good news, it only took an hour to complete and we were treated with the best possible scenario. The drama surgeon was able to reset her heel and keep it set with two pins. Not the multiple screws and plate they were initially anticipating.
With that said, she still has a long road of recovery. She will be in a soft cast for the next two weeks and then a hard cast for 8 weeks. 10 weeks total of non weight bearing. Depending on how it feels after 10 weeks will determine the next steps. All in all, it's going to take a solid 12-18 months before it feels "normal" again.
She was able to get a good night's sleep last night with the pain block they put in and is in much better spirits today. Klaryssa Renae and Raelen have been with her all day. According to Klaryssa she is a popular person today at the hospital. Haha
On the homefront... We continue to rest and ice. Two of my favorite things in the world. Smh. Everyone is still pretty sore but thankfully we had a ton of visitors yesterday to our minds off everything.
Thank you Sheri Harris and family, Standing Bear Coaches Megan Ruppert and Ronee Watson, Lisa Lisa Domina Hopkins and Sophia, Laci Sahlfeld-Harper and family, and Mary Liz Tucker and Family. We appreciate the supper that was provided, snacks, gift cards, and most importantly you and your company. You all mean the world to us and we can't thank you enough for your prayers and help during this time. Thank you so much.
