Friday morning I woke up feeling better and mostly recovered from chemo. I went to my first acupuncture treatment - very cool.
My energy has returned to normal, and I’ve increased my exercise to long walks - over 2 miles today!
My appetite has returned to normal, I was really hungry after the chemo - must have been the steroids.
This week I am focusing on moving my body, cooking nutritious food for myself and the boys, and doing house chores. I’m appreciating the slower pace. I will also visit with a friend or two mid week and I am really looking forward to spending time with them that I otherwise wouldn’t have free.
I honestly feel great today, so I am trying to focus on that and take things one day at a time. It is nice to have this week to feel normal before going back in for round 2 on Monday. I anticipate it may be hard to go in knowing I’ll feel worse when I come out. But at least this time I know what to expect, and I know it will be manageable. And I will have one of my best friends joining me for my chemo infusion on Monday :)
For the rest of the week, while the world watches the World Cup, our house will be live-streaming the Monster Truck World Championship on YouTube July 2-4th. (I highly recommend you check it out between the games, it’s free.) And according to Brady on Saturday we will be having a “hot dog party”. Happy 4th to you all, however you choose to celebrate this year (hot dogs recommended).
