Making the Cut

A few days after I was diagnosed with cancer, I gathered some of the most fierce women I know in Nashville for breakfast. The first thing Jennifer Abel said when I shared my news was, “It’s not your time!” She then added, “And when you lose your hair, I will shave my head with you.” 💙😭

While this chemo hasn’t caused me to lose my hair, I’ve been told it will thin in the coming months. So, we decided to make a date to get haircuts and then have lunch.
Jennifer went all in and cut hers very short!!

Abby also wanted to cut her hair shorter.

This  is the shortest my hair has been since I was in elementary school!

For those who don’t know, Jennifer was one of Spencer & Abby’s first exceptional education teachers when they were young. I’m incredibly blessed that she, along with other teachers from that time, have become dear friends.

Jennifer, thank you for doing this big step with us and for the lovely lunch today! Love you much! 💕

Hi Laura! I don't have the words to express how much I feel for you and your family. Your updates on social media are so positive amidst the complications and trials of your cancer journey. I'm so happy Spencer and Duane made it to Gillette, and that you and Abby also had 1:1 time. I will continue to lift you and yours up in prayer 🙏. ❤️Beth
