Unfortunately, there haven’t been any significant changes in Andrew’s condition today. He remains in critical condition, and we are continuing to take things one day at a time.
Andrew is still heavily sedated, and at this point, his medical team has been unable to safely decrease his sedation to evaluate his responsiveness. He remains on ECMO, which is helping support his heart and lungs, as well as dialysis to support his kidneys.
Today, the medical team plans to perform another CT scan of his head to continue monitoring his brain, since they have not been able to reduce his sedation enough to assess his neurological function through responsiveness.
Another major concern continues to be the circulation in his legs. The vascular team is evaluating him daily and using Doppler ultrasound to monitor blood flow. Unfortunately, he still does not have detectable pulses below his knees. We are remaining hopeful that with continued medical support, circulation to his legs will improve.
We know Andrew is facing an incredibly difficult battle, and there are still so many unknowns. We are trying to remain patient, hopeful, and positive while allowing his body and the medical team the time they need.
❤️ We also want to express how incredibly grateful we are for the outpouring of love and support from our friends, family, and community.
To everyone who has donated to the fundraiser set up for our family, shared it, reached out, prayed, or offered a helping hand — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness and generosity mean more to us than words could ever express.
With Andrew’s condition still so critical, we know he has a very long road ahead of him. There are so many uncertainties about what the coming days, weeks, and months will look like, and the financial burden is something we are trying to navigate alongside everything else.
If you feel led to donate to our family’s fundraiser, we would be incredibly appreciative. If you aren’t in a position to donate, please consider sharing the fundraiser. Every share helps us reach more people, and every prayer means just as much.
Most importantly, please continue praying for Andrew — for his brain, his heart and lungs, his kidneys, and especially for improved circulation to his legs. Pray for his medical team as they continue making difficult decisions about his care.
Our four children and I need him, and we are holding on to every bit of hope that he will pull through this.
Andy has a long road ahead of him, but we are continuing to fight alongside him every step of the way. ❤️🙏
