Jax is currently in the hospital with pneumonia after being brought in for acute respiratory failure caused by mucus plugging in his left lung. There was hope he’d be heading home soon, but he has since become tachycardic and hypertensive. He’s now undergoing labs and another chest X-ray as the team works to stabilize him.

If you’re counting, this is pneumonia #4, respiratory illness #6, and hospital stay #6—all just this year!

Jennifer has missed a tremendous amount of work caring for Jax through each of these health crises. The emotional and financial weight of this journey is incredibly heavy.

To underscore just how complex his medical needs are—three hospitals turned him away before finding one equipped to manage his care. That kind of complexity requires a fierce, knowledgeable, and present advocate. And while Jennifer continues to show up for her son in every possible way, let’s be honest: advocacy at this level is exhausting.
