Greyson has not had any more fevers but he has had some low temps (which in the infection context can be the same thing as a fever and is just as concerning!). They tried to wean his ventilator a little bit overnight but had to go back up on his settings because he wasn’t tolerating it very well.
Greyson’s new rash has continued to spread and the doctors believe it is GVHD (graft-vs-host disease). He also has some new loose stools which they believe are GVHD as well. They are discussing and weighing treating it right now as the treatment includes suppressing the immune system.
They also said that his elevated bilirubin could be a symptom of GVHD.
One of the virus tests came back negative yesterday. This is great news because this is the virus that they were worried could be resistant to anti-virals if it came back.
They continue to be concerned that his aHUS is flaring but have not decided to give the infusion yet. They are watching the blood work closely and some of the markers of an aHUS flare has started to trend down. We are hoping they continue to trend down!
Greyson is getting his CT now so we will have a better idea of what his lungs look like later today. 💚🧡🎗️
