Greyson was stable overnight besides being restless. He has been squirming ever since the Propofol was turned off. They have added other sedation medications and are trying to get him comfortable without the Propofol. One of his sedation medications is now causing him to not take his own breaths So they are weaning that medication and going up on others to accommodate for that. The goal is to get him to take his own breaths and then extubate him tomorrow (of course, this could change!).
Around day 45, BMT usually gets a Bone Marrow Aspirate and Lumbar Puncture. They will be checking his bone marrow and spinal fluid for leukemia and also to see how well he has engrafted. They are going to do these tests tomorrow while he is still sedated instead of sedating and intubating him for a procedure a few days after extubation. 💚🧡🎗️
