Chelsea Brem and Family
We are happy to share that Chelsea had another quiet and restful night, which was a wonderful way to start the day.
This morning, her oral feeding tube was successfully swapped to a nasal tube in preparation for extubation. Her daily X-rays confirmed it was placed properly. ✅✅
As expected, there were some conflicting viewpoints from different providers, but after thoughtful discussion and close monitoring, the team moved forward.
🎉 Chelsea was successfully extubated at 2:22 pm 🎉
She has been closely monitored since and is now resting comfortably. All vitals are good and stable. She’s breathing on her own now! (Yay!! No more ventilator.)
Next steps include keeping a very close eye on our wiggle worm. 🐛 Chelsea is still on medications to help her relax, but as dosages decrease she is becoming more alert and very squirmy. She is truly our little Harry Houdini.
She remains in a strict low stimulation environment with extremely tight visitation. Monitoring will continue around the clock to keep her safe and supported.
Because she needs constant hands on monitoring, we may be slower or unable to respond to messages at times. Please know how deeply we love and appreciate every one of you, and we promise to connect when we are able.
Thank you for the continued prayers, love, and support. It means more than we can express. 💕
