Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for your concern, love, support and prayers after my fall at church on Tuesday.
Thank you all for your concern, love, support and prayers after my fall at church on Tuesday.
I fell from the top step of a tall step ladder while putting some bowls away we had used for the Legacy Club lunch. Both of my feet were on the top step and i was putting clean bowls from counter up onto the second shelf of a cabinet. I lost my balance and fell backwards. I landed on my left heel, which shatttered. I will know if I need surgery on Wednesday when i see the podiatrist. My knee is also very tight and injured by being jammed from the foot hitting the ground. So bending it to walk on crutches is painful. I am in a splint cast to keep it immobilized. My right leg has a pretty deep gash and numerous scratches from landing on the porcelain bowls that came down with me. Lou said he was picking pieces out of my leg. I dont remember that. Katie was such a great caregiver and got me bandaged up and into a wheelchair (with Lou and Aaron) and off to the ER. Rev Aaron Lee took me and stayed with me every single minute. He was so patient and caring and concerned. I had numerous xrays and a CT while in the ER. I didn't get to see them nor was i given any details except confirmation of broken heel and it may or may not require surgery. The comments made during our 5 hours there led me to believe it is bad bad. I cant go anywhere because i have stairs inside and outside and i cannot do stairs at all. I learned that Tuesday night when we got home. Stairs are not an option right now. So i will stay in until my Wednesda appointment. Please pray that i don't need surgery and that the pain gets better.
