2025 has been a challenging year to say the least. Early in February Greg blew out his knee and had to have major surgery after just having knee replacement surgery in December 2024. Then in June 2, we had to say goodbye to Harper, our 11-year-old beagle who had bladder cancer. 10 days later, June 12, I went to the emergency room, and was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. 6 chemo's and 1 surgery to do a full hysterectomy, remove my appendix, my fallopian tubes, and my Omentum (fatty lining in the abdomen), finally to ring the bell at Mayo symbolizing treatments were over! There has been a lot of joy in between all of this, however. I have a beautiful family, and many, many friends who have rallied around Greg and I through this journey. Some of those friends I haven't seen or heard from in years, but when they were needed, they came. Together we have 10 grandchildren, welcoming #10 just a couple of weeks ago. What blessings we have! Our faith in God has strengthened, our families are healthy, our jobs are secure, and we are looking forward to many more blessings in 2026! I go back to Mayo January 14 for a checkup, blood work, CT scan, and as long as things are good, I will start going every 3 months for checkups. I have been told there is a 70% chance the cancer can return in 2 years, but I pray every day that God has his hands on me, and I am in the 30% that it will not reappear.  I ask of all of you that have supported me/us through this journey that you also pray I am in the 30%. I intend to live life to the fullest, love my family and my friends, take vacations and long walks and go to the beach and everything and anything that I can do. Life is short they say and I know it is sometimes, but I plan on a long one. I will update again after I go to Mayo on the 14th. Until then, thank you all again, and Happy New Year!
