Intubation continues.... July 9, 2026

Considering it's our mom's birthday today (from heaven), we wish we had a better update to share.  Steven is still on the ventilator but was transferred from the burn unit to the pulmonary ICU.  His burns are no longer the priority for his recovery; however, they are still clearing fluid from his lungs, which we understand to be a common complication among burn victims.  We are being told that he is making slow progress, and his vitals remain stable.  We continue to be hopeful that he can come off the ventilator soon so he can begin therapies and get home to his boys.  

Unfortunately, he is not permitted to have visitors, except our Dad who has been the main communicator to the hospital for updates.  Dad has been getting inundated with calls and text messages checking on Steve, which we appreciate greatly, but it is overwhelming!  We will continue to post updates here, so that we can ensure everyone knows what is going on.  Please be patient with us as we navigate this.
