Stem Cells for Ella
Tomorrow marks an exciting and important step in Ella’s journey—she’ll begin Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), and I’ll be right there beside her, joining her in the chamber for each dive.
For those who may not be familiar, HBOT is a medical treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. This process significantly increases the amount of oxygen delivered to the body’s tissues and cells, promoting healing, reducing inflammation, and supporting the body’s natural regenerative abilities.
In preparation for her upcoming stem cell transplant, HBOT plays a crucial role. The increased oxygen levels help create an ideal environment for the stem cells to thrive and function effectively once they’re introduced. It can improve circulation, support immune function, and optimize the health of tissues—giving those new cells the very best chance to do what they’re meant to do.
But HBOT offers benefits that go even deeper for Ella.
For children with cerebral palsy, HBOT has been shown to improve motor function, reduce muscle tightness, enhance speech and cognitive abilities, and promote better quality of life. The increased oxygen supply can support healing in areas of the brain that may have been affected by injury or lack of oxygen at birth—providing hope for more mobility, greater comfort, and more independence.
We’re prayerful and hopeful as we take this next step. It’s a daily commitment—we’ll be doing multiple “dives” per week over the coming weeks—but one we’re honored and grateful to make for Ella.
Thank you for walking with us through each phase of this journey. Every treatment, every step forward, is possible because of your prayers, your generosity, and your love for Ella.
We can’t wait to share more as this next chapter unfolds.
