Wheels for Sophia Zumwalt
Today we passed $30,000 raised for Sophia’s accessible van—bringing us to 63% of our goal! More than 75 people have given financially, hundreds have shared our page on social media and by word of mouth, and so many are praying for us. I shouldn’t be surprised, because our community has shown up for our family—and especially for Sophia—year after year. What might seem like an overwhelming outpouring of generosity is really a continuation of the love and care we’ve experienced since day one. Still, it humbles us. We recognize what a profound blessing it is to see God provide for our family through all of you, again and again.
And the most exciting part? We’re getting close. Every share, every prayer, and every gift is helping move us toward a solution that will grow with Sophia—so she can continue to access the world around her as her needs change. Because of you, we can begin to see that path forward more clearly.
We’ve started to get more serious about van shopping! We’ve spoken with sales teams at dealerships in Oklahoma City and connected with someone from the Department of Disability who gave us helpful guidance. We’re narrowing down the model and conversion type that will best serve our family long-term, and we’re feeling confident we’ll find exactly what Sophia needs. We’re looking for a minivan with a side-entry ramp and a seat that folds down next to her wheelchair so her nurse can ride beside her—something that will support her not just today, but in the years ahead.
We’re not there yet, but we’re closer than ever—and that’s because of you. Thank you for being part of this with us, and for helping ensure Sophia can continue to be a light in her community as she grows!
