Hi everyone! 

It’s hard to believe another month has come and gone. We have a 2 month old! 😊

We are happy to report that Lenny is over 4lbs! She also continues to progress with her dependency on oxygen. She no longer has the breathing tube and is breathing on her own while still requiring oxygen in her nose as she continues to learn to breathe and her lungs develop as she grows. Please pray with us specifically for her oxygen support- that she would transition well to each new level and that her lungs would continue to grow and strengthen!

Please also continue to pray for her to sustain her weight gain! She’s doing such a great job tolerating her feedings, which is a huge praise!

Future events to be thinking about:

Eye exams and hearing tests 

Next heart Ecco in 30 days

Trying different type of feeding: bottles and nursing  

Other updates include:

She is in an open bed, no more closed isolette! 

She is wearing clothes! 😊 

She is more alert and active during the care times- mom and dad love this! 

Her cheeks continue to fill out- she is a Smith through and through 💛

Kayden has returned to work full time this week. Please pray for her to have peace of mind and confidence in the Lord to extend grace each new morning as she daily navigates all the logistics of a full work load, matching Lenny’s feeding schedule, hospital visits, and the emotions that rise and fall throughout the day. We are grateful that Kayden will be able to take her full maternity leave when that time comes! 

As always, we continue to be humbled and amazed at the acts of love and generosity from our community.  There are no words that feel sufficient to let you all know how much every gift, meal, prayer, text etc. means to us. I can’t wait to tell Lenny how loved she is by so many, one day ❤️
