My hematologist referred me for a second opinion since the disease has progressed but in an atypical way (will explain that in another post). I will be traveling to University of Michigan on Oct 22nd to see Dr. Akin, a Mastocytosis specialist. We think it’s just an initial appointment but we aren’t quite sure if he will order more tests or procedures. The appointment is at 8:30 in the morning with an 8 arrival so we will be going up the night before so that way we have good sleep for the appt. Any donations to help with expenses- hotel, gas, food, etc.- of this trip is appreciated.
