An Accessible Home for Roman & Stella
Hi wonderful supporters!
We hope you all had a magical Thanksgiving, if you celebrate. Ours looked a little different this year.
The Saturday before Thanksgiving, Roman was transported by ambulance to the ER because he was having trouble breathing. He tested positive for Rhinovirus which is “just the common cold” for most kids, but something that can be very dangerous for him. It was incredibly scary, especially after what we went through a couple years ago with him. After four days in the PICU and the most incredible care, we were thankfully able to bring him home the day before Thanksgiving. Our holiday was quiet and low-key as he recovered, but still full of love. Honestly, we were just grateful to celebrate at home instead of in the hospital.
The next day, Stella spiked a 104° fever… and then Donald got sick too. So the last week has been a lot — caring for two medically fragile kids and a sick husband, trying to keep everyone stable and comfortable. Exhausting doesn’t even begin to cover it, but as always, we’re grateful to be surrounded by so much support.
