Support Registry Update

Chemo starts today!

Yesterday, we met with Sarah’s oncologist. He is great! He is the regional GI cancer lead for Kaiser, so our prayers for a strong medical team are being answered.

Sarah has stage IV colorectal cancer, which we suspected because we knew it had metastasized. Her oncologist is starting her on an aggressive systemic therapy of chemo today! He said, “We’re gonna get you better.”

Sarah had her med port placed yesterday and was admitted to the hospital this morning for IV nutrition and chemo. She will likely stay in the hospital for a few days to a week. Then she’ll continue with chemo every two weeks to try to reduce the cancer throughout her body. Her doctor said, “We got this! We’re gonna get you ready for your title fight,” meaning potential surgeries down the road.

If you have volunteered to provide a meal for Sarah and the family this week, please continue to provide the family meal, but the meal for Sarah is not needed since she is currently in the hospital.

Today we are praying for reduced fatigue and increased appetite, a positive response to chemo, and improved strength and healing for Sarah.

Thank you to this wonderful community for your continued support.

Oh, that’s so amazing that she’s starting today!! 🙌🏼 Thank you Lord. She’s been so heavy on my heart and mind. Praying for all these things. Our family is almost well and then I’ll start bringing meals. What a blessing to get such wonderful care. I’m sitting in my car crying. She is so blessed. How are the girls? Is there anything that I could get them to spark even a little bit of joy in this incredibly hard time?

❤️🫶💪. Any idea of what the “title fight” looks like (what type of surgery and when it might take place)?
