Moving Home for Mom
I wanted to share an update because our move to Michigan is becoming more time-sensitive.
At this point, the biggest practical obstacle is reliable transportation.
Our 2013 Ford Transit Connect needs approximately $1,500–$2,000 in repairs before it can be depended on for the trip. We now have a plan to move forward with those repairs, and getting the van road-ready is our biggest immediate priority.
Thankfully, my siblings are already working hard to clear and prepare my mom’s home so it will be ready for us. That is a huge blessing and takes one major piece of the transition off our shoulders.
I am also working every day this week and into next week and doing everything I can to bring in as much income as possible. We are making progress, but there are several expenses that need to be covered in a relatively short period of time.
I have updated our SupportNow goal to $5,000 to better reflect the full cost of this transition.
Funds will help with:
- Repairing the van and getting it safely road-ready
- Gas and travel expenses to Michigan
- A possible hotel stop during the trip
- Groceries and basic household needs when we arrive
- A few immediate bills during the transition
- Basic moving expenses
Thankfully, the mortgage company is willing to work with us on the house payments, which gives us some breathing room as we make this transition.
If you are able to donate, share this page, send work our way, or connect us with someone who may be able to help with the van repair, we would be incredibly grateful.
And please continue to pray for provision, wisdom, safe travel, my mom as she adjusts to so many changes, and for Dennis as well.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, prayed, shared, hired me, checked on us, or helped in any way. Every bit of support is helping move us closer to Michigan.
