Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
- Hebrews 12:1-3
Mom has been busy the last couple days (as she does) and has been out of the house quite a bit. While this has been fatiguing for both of us, she has had the energy to do it (much more so than a month or two ago when she could not leave the house at all), and we thank God for that!
We decided against going to Mexico for treatment. Mom has decided to pursue alternative therapies, and we are talking to doctors around the country about their different treatment protocols. On Thursday, she tried a far infrared sauna, which seemed to be helpful (tumors don't like heat [1]). And on Friday, she tried a high-dose vitamin C IV [2], which also appeared to help with her energy. We intend to continue these therapies over the coming months while figuring out what else is next. She is still getting out and walking for 30 minutes a day [3]. And we are working toward commitment to a diet that works for her body [4].
We drove to Indiana today to see our doctor of Chinese medicine over the coming days. And we are believing God to provide and to heal Mom's body.
--For those very concerned about Mom's medical decisions, please do not fret. We will still appease you and go to her appointments as scheduled. Thank you for your concern.--
Rather than fret or talk about her like she's dying, we ask you to please pray with us, for complete healing for Sandy's body, for discernment in identifying what her body needs, for commitment to providing what her body needs without compromise, and for endurance to run the race before us.
Thank you all for your prayers and words of life!
