Surgery Complete

Good morning, everyone! ❤️
First, thank you all so much for your continued prayers, love, and support! We are so grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️ I apologize for the late update. By the time I got home, got the kids bathed and into bed, and everyone was finally asleep, I was right behind them and completely passed out! 😂

Sam did amazing yesterday! 🙏❤️
Dr. Quarterman came out to speak with me shortly after 4:30 PM and let me know that everything went well with her portion of the surgery. Sam did great, and Dr. Bidic was in the operating room preparing to begin the reconstruction.

We also received some encouraging news: Sam's lymph nodes were clear! ❤️ The surgery took a little longer than expected because Dr. Quarterman took three samples to freeze and send for testing to confirm that the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes. We are so thankful for this positive news and continue to pray for healing and good results moving forward. 🙏

Around 6:30 PM, Dr. Bidic came out to let me know that Sam did great with the reconstruction as well and that they were moving her to recovery. ❤️

I stayed for a little while, but as expected, she was pretty much knocked out and resting after everything she'd been through. They mentioned the possibility of discharging her today, but we'll see how she's feeling and how recovery goes before making any assumptions. Right now, the most important thing is that she rests and heals.

I'll be heading back down after I drop the littles off at school, and we'll share another update when we know more.

Thank you again for every prayer, message, kind word, and act of support. We truly cannot express how much it means to our family to have so many people loving Sam and lifting her up through this journey. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she recovers. We know she still has healing ahead of her, and we're taking things one step at a time. ❤️🙏
