This morning, we met with the reconstruction surgeon, and we’re happy to share that everything went well. As of now, Sam’s surgery is still scheduled for October 28th.

Following surgery, she will spend one night in the hospital before beginning what will be a very restrictive recovery. For a minimum of six weeks, Sam has been told that her main focus needs to be resting and allowing her body to heal. That means no cooking, baking, cleaning, or lifting more than 10 pounds.

Once the drainage tubes are removed, she will also have weekly follow-up appointments as her recovery continues. After everything has fully healed, Sam will need another surgery to remove the spacers, which will come with an additional two-week recovery period.

For those of you who know Sam, you know that sitting still and relaxing definitely isn’t her strong suit, so this may be one of the toughest parts of her recovery!

The reconstruction surgeon also advised us to anticipate The Secret Garden Massage being closed from the date of surgery through the end of the year while Sam focuses on healing and recovery.

We truly appreciate everyone who has been following along, checking in, offering support, and keeping Sam in your thoughts and prayers. It means more to us than you know. ❤️

We’ll share another update following Friday’s pre-op appointment with the surgeons.

Thank you all for continuing to support Sam throughout this journey. 🌿💜

Dale, it’s been some time since we’ve talked from when we worked together. I wishing the best for your family as you are good people and your wife must be as well if she is with you. When the going gets tough, remember to lean on family and friends. Best wishes Jeff Schwagel
