Yesterday, Rowan met with Intensive Therapeutics to see how the program will fit his needs. This practice specializes in constraint induced movement therapy or CIMT. Children have a removable cast fitted and work on using their weaker arm. This program usually sees children from age 2.5+ but also have experience with younger children like Rowan. They would have to tailor their treatments a little differently for him due to his age and stamina. Rowan gets very tired after working so hard so a nap would need to be worked into his sessions!

Next, Rowan met with a new outpatient physical therapist who is trained in DMI therapy. They worked on getting from lying down to sitting. Rowan will meet with this therapist every other Monday as we have outpatient OT that will follow the same schedule - keeping to 3 hours of therapy per week.

It may seem like a lot of therapy, but everyone is very happy with this amount. We’re getting Rowan into a great routine to hopefully make amazing progress in his intensives coming up in February.

We want to continually thank everyone who has helped us so far. We never imagined coming close to hitting our goal, let alone RAISING IT! We thank God every day for the community we have.

Up next, early intervention OT and PT.
