Riley Herman
Over the weekend, they started weaning Riley off of IV medications and to what she can go home on. It was encouraging because the last time they did this, her O2 numbers would drop throughout the day, but this time they stayed up. They've been taking x-rays of her lungs to make sure they've stayed clear, and they were still looking pretty good.
If all went as planned, they'd take an x-ray of her lungs today, and if they still looked good, she could go home! Unfortunately, they looked worse. So they're changing up her meds and checking again on Friday. She was so close...
I think Riley's getting done with the hospital. She had a resistant infection earlier in her stay, so she's stuck in her room and can only go on supervised walks to make sure she doesn't touch anything. She's been watching a heavy rotation of the same movies and TV shows, and she's getting to the point that she asks for something, then a few minutes later asks for something else. I think she wants to be able to move around and do something else. Hopefully we get good news on Friday and she can run around at home!
Sara, the boys and I had some fun together this long, Thanksgiving weekend. On Friday, we had music therapy as a family, and Riley loved it! We went to see Wicked for Good on Saturday with the boys, and went Sunday to see the Liberty Bell and the Wanamaker lights. It was nice to do some things while we had the time together. We hadn't been together as a family for a couple weeks, so it was good to spend some time with Riley and also out of the hospital. Hopefully soon we'll all be home together!
