We are still waiting for my oncology appointment on Monday, so I don’t have any major new answers yet. That part hasn’t changed. What has changed is that the lymph node in my neck has become more uncomfortable and painful, and it seems larger and more rigid than it was before. I’m keeping an eye on it and just trying to get through these last few days until we can finally sit down with oncology and understand what comes next.
Tonight, though, cancer showed up in a completely different way.
Anwyn and I were in the kitchen making dinner together when she told me she doesn’t want me to die. I told her I don’t want that either. I want to see her grow up. She told me she wants that too, and that she wants more time with me.
There were tears. There were hugs. And then, because life is somehow still life even in the middle of all of this, there was tuna noodle salad. ❤️
That little moment hit me hard. So much of this experience has been appointments, scans, phone calls, paperwork, money worries and waiting for answers. But underneath all of it is something much simpler: we love each other, and we want more time together.
So for now, we keep waiting for Monday. We keep making dinner. We keep laughing when we can, crying when we need to, and taking this one day at a time.
Thank you to everyone who has checked in, shared our page, helped financially, or simply reminded us that we aren’t carrying all of this completely alone. It means more than I can say.
