Today was a busy one, but it feels good to have things moving.
I had my full-body dermatology exam at the Eden Prairie clinic, and they biopsied three areas: behind my ear, my right shoulder, and my right thigh. The dermatologist also didn’t like the appearance of the spot on my back, which my oncologist had already been concerned about. They said biopsy results should be back within about a week, and I’m hopeful they may help answer the question of where the melanoma started while also, of course, hoping there isn’t anything else to worry about.
The really good news is that my pain is much better managed now. I’m on a good rotation of oxycodone and Tylenol, and it has made a huge difference. As treatment planning gets underway, I’m also feeling much more cared for by my medical team, which has been such a relief.
I had therapy this morning too, and I’m working on being much more intentional about caring for myself through all of this: resting, eating regularly, gentle movement, keeping stress low, and being mindful about where I put my energy.
And help has come from such a wonderful and unexpected place. One of my neighbors has been incredibly kind and has offered to help post our flyers at the local businesses that have agreed to display them. I’m so grateful we connected, even if I wish it had happened under better circumstances. ❤️
To everyone who has reached out, helped, shared, checked in, or supported us in whatever way you can: it genuinely means the world to all of us here.
