Hello all,
I feel like it has been awhile since I wrote an update which actually feels like a good thing! It means we have simply been living our life and carrying out Madeline's treatment plan with no major hurdles. Praise God for some consistency and normalcy. We have had chemo the past two Monday's and everything has gone according to plan. She has been free of complications and fevers so we have been able to stay in our own home away from the hospital. I have even went back to work for two days. This was a good reminder to me that life will go on and there is a world outside of our small cancer bubble.
We also have very good news to share. On Monday Madeline had a CT scan which showed that her LUNGS ARE CLEAR!!! (I hope you can hear the enthusiasm that I would be yelling this with if I could send my voice through the keyboard) All of the radiation and chemo thus far hasn't been easy, but it made it worth it to get this news. It is reassuring to have some concrete evidence that progress is being made.
I have declared that August is going to be our month of summer. Our goal is to stay away from the hospital and clinic and cram in all of the summer activities that we feel like we have missed so far. It will be very fun!
Thank you all for praying fervently and supporting our family in so many different ways. I know I say this every time, but we truly could not do it without all of you on our team. Thank you for carrying us through this, for feeding us dinners on chemo days, for checking in and reaching out, and most importantly for praying always. We still know and believe that God's got this and it has ultimately been His battle from the start. We are grateful to be fighting under the banner of His name.
We love you all,
Molly
