Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a quick update and a bit more context on what’s happening right now.
We are travelling to Vancouver tomorrow morning so Presley can have an urgent spinal MRI on Tuesday. This is being done to gather more information and ensure we have the full picture of what’s going on neurologically.
For some backstory — Presley had a heel cord surgery in November to lengthen her left calf muscle, and the surgery itself went very well. However, in early January we began noticing a significant change in her walk and gait, which raised some red flags. That led to neurology becoming involved here locally. Because wait times can be long, her medical team in Vancouver stepped in quickly and ordered an urgent MRI and booked us in to see the same team who performed her SDR surgery in May 2025.
Last week, Presley also completed nerve testing. At this point, the doctors are not certain what is happening, but they are being thorough and proactive by running all necessary tests to determine whether there is anything we should be concerned about or address early.
Our schedule this week:
- Tuesday: MRI
- Wednesday: Appointments with her SDR surgeon and physical therapist
We are incredibly grateful to have such a responsive and supportive medical team, and we are focusing on taking things one step at a time. Right now, this trip is about gathering data, asking questions, and making sure Presley continues to receive the best care possible.
Thank you all so much for your continued support, prayers, and check-ins. It truly means the world to us.
With gratitude,
Paige
