Owen's Accessible Vehicle
We are incredibly grateful for the amazing community of nurses and teachers who have touched Owen’s life. These remarkable individuals deserve far more than just a week of recognition!
When we first brought Owen home to Missouri after adopting him in Arizona, we arrived at our initial pediatrician appointment carrying more cords and wires than confidence. That’s when we met Leslie, a nurse who will always hold a special place in my heart. Kevin and I were overwhelmed, fumbling our way down the hallway, but once we made it to the exam room, Leslie looked at us and said, “You’re doing amazing—don’t worry, this will get easier.” Her words were exactly what we needed in that moment.
When Owen turned three, we made the difficult decision to start him in school, despite our worries about his medical needs and vulnerable immune system. Thankfully, we found the perfect place and the perfect teacher—Ms. Linda. She welcomed us with warmth and reassured us every step of the way. The love, peace, and confidence she gave our family were priceless.
Leslie and Ms. Linda are just two of the many incredible people who have made a lasting impact on our journey.
Happy Nurses and Teachers Appreciation Week—we celebrate you today and every day!
