Labs weren’t as encouraging as the vet hoped. He went for a walk around hospital and outside. They’re trying to get him hungry and eat so he doesn’t need the feeding tube again. No GI bleeding that was observed. Blood Counts holding steady and no more transfusions today. Dialysis tomorrow and additional labs to get some
Trending. Still no confirmation of Lepto since he was given antibiotics before cultures were done so they are gonna try and do an RNA type test to see if it’s hiding somewhere. Treatment same. Still worried about carprofen liver toxicity and permanent damage. ALT was down to 296 but went up to 324 which may be due to receiving blood yesterday. TBili rose from yesterday from 10 to 13 but also may be due to auto immune red blood cell destruction during transfusion. If they keep rising then they will have to suspect continued liver injury pattern. Creat post dialysis was 2.1 down from 7.6 prior; this morning was 5. So there’s almost a 3 point baseline drop which is promising to nephrologist. They hope tomorrows dialysis will
Bring him under 1 so his kidneys will have optimal rest to heal. They expect  see saw pattern for a bit until they find his new ckd baseline that won’t need dialysis. He’s happy to meet staff and wagging his tail a lot so they like that he’s acting himself again. They anticipate more energy and less nausea when creat comes down more tomorrow. So today wasn’t such great news but wasn’t a huge setback either. His primary intensive care resident is back tomorrow after a day off to continue his care and give us updates. So hopefully he’ll have a great day tomorrow and we will have positive news to give. 🐾 ❤️‍🩹.
